Farid feels
pathos when he finds out why Amir is in Afghanistan to find the son of his dead half-brother. Farid feels bad for assuming that Amir was here for money and that Amir was selfish and spoiled. Farid then apologizes "It was wrong of me to assume" (Kite Runner 239).
